Cool spots

by Paolo

Skaters try almost every place on Earth, even the most architectural ones! The image on the right was taken from a skate website, where some guys posted it to show to the world one of their favourite spots to ride.

Skaters always look around for a new nice spot: they want to own it and they feel they did it only after landing a good trick from that spot.

If the conditions around the chosen spot are not good for a safe landing, for example there are holes in the ground, or the flat surface is not big enough, they spend a lot of time repairing it or placing wood panels on it, so they will have no problems when they land their tricks on it. Someone calls this love; some other, waste of time.

This is it, for now...meet you @ the next spot!

Old school decks

by Paolo

Old decks were quite bigger and heavier than the new ones.

I began skating, when i was 8 years old, on a very old and heavy deck: it was orange, black grip tape, purple wheels (it wasn't me to choose the colors...). Some years later the decks of the new generation reached the market and i bought one: it was just great! What seemed impossible to do with the old ones, incredibily became possible with these new toys and even easy! My first deck of the new generation was an Alien Workshop, a wonderful, simple, very light deck, painted in black, with an alien's head in its center.

On this skateboard i was able to perform for the first time in my life a cool trick named flip and then, after that, some other cool one. It gave me a lot of high time, for sure!

This is it, for now...i don't want to start crying remembering the good old days, when i was young and everything was just about fun. Hey, this started out as an html excercise! Maybe i should start a blog...maybe i should start it from scratch, from a plain text page! Html is cool!

Be careful with your skateboards!
